What do all these birds have in common? Wanted to make a fun loud picture with the fire of the phoenix and coolness of the peacock meshing together in almost a yin yang and the pelican as the neutral middle. Excited that it is my first non surf art piece but i miss doing waves and boards so it will be a while before i stray again.

Santa's surf break
My wife wanted something to match our other christmas picture and even though i had already begun another beach picture. I threw in santa an a palm tree and made it a christmas scene. I wanted to do something w the moon, but it ended up looking like a sun. The blue thing on the moon does not look like a crater! Haha

Merry christmas
My wife wanted me to make a picture for christmas to hang in the hallway so i asked her what she had in mind. This was it. Love the poinsettias and the fun lil christmas lights. She wanted it real dark. I thought about putting a santa silhouette in the moon but thought it would be too cheesy. Im really proud of how the night time came out

Surf sunset
Well, this started off as me trying to make a surf picture with fall colors to match all the house decorations.. It ended up turning into what i call the primary color sunset. Best shack ive drawn and the palm trees came out great. Wave shading was tough because of the colors i chose. Decided at the last minute to throw a guy in the tube.. Just a silhouette

Dream wave
Catch the stoke. Had a blast doin this piece. Started with the light blue and then went light then came back around to do the dark of the wave. Then i did the sky followed by the sand and plants last. I think from now on i will be painting in sections like that instead of all blue, all green, all red.... Because you forget what you are going for if you leave to paint another section

Lip shack
My wife n baby took off for the day so i wanted to pump another surf piece out. Got too nervous to do detailed sea animals which i will be experimenting with soon. For some reason, i cant blend as well as drew brophy and my waves look very layered. Still look cool, but i want them to look more blended in the future. Im a pro at those cool little flowers now and tried a new sun out which looks way cool and does something totally different to the scene
Endless wave surf shack
I used posca pens but the new trick i tried was using "gesso" to base the canvas before i began painting. It let the paint stay wet longer for better blending and i will never again paint a canvas without it. I had to order some thick pens to paint this huge canvas(2ft) but it was really fun and i hope to try to get more detail in my next big piece and see what happens!

Remember your death
My friend dan sent me a rosary made of skulls and i came up with this cool idea. Had my wife pose in this way and found a cool skull to put over it. Made of poscas on archer paper. Remember your death

Posca on canvas
Someone has asked me to pain him 2 paintings. This one is roughly 12in across. Did not base the canvas which made it really hard to blend the colors because the pens dry so fast.

Flowers for CA
My wife always wants flowers so i thought i would do a piece on a bed frame of hawaiian flowers. Love the colors, wish i would have really wiped the wood down before i began!

Posca surf piece
I finally got a set of posca paints and did a piece of art. I found a broken piece of wood off of a desk and painted it up. The problem with wood is you can still see every brush stroke. I want to try canvas next! I love how the colors pop compared to acrylic

Surfing time
Here is the latest piece of surf art. I recently bought my first pad of arches paper. I got cold pressed and the divites are way to big. It is made for water color and since it it $30 for 16 sheets, its going to be a while before i get another.

Surfer Dude
This is most people's favorite piece to date. I kept drawing a crayon version of it with my daughter when she would ask me "daddy color!?"

Daddys girl
Its finally happened... "daddy...tattoos.... i want tattoos!" Mom left for some shopping and it was on. We started drawing on eachother until her legs were covered in pen sleeves! Then it was nap time...
She walked downstairs and said "daddy, what you doing?".. "painting"... her response " ohh, can i look?" ... sure. She grabbed a brush and i got out some water color and we spent the next hour painting pictures and all over eachother, until she says " daddy, paint my back too".. i love this kid.
Guy and gal
I have wanted to paint this traditional mustache guy for a while. When i saw this girl i knew it was a perfect match and i had just the frames for them.

Dancing Sugar Skulls
My wife and I have been really getting ino the 40's & 50's rockabilly style and thought this picture grabbed it well. I saw this as a black and white sketch on pinterest and decided to paint, color and give some background to it. The elbow came out funky, but whatever!
penguins
I was asked by my wife to paint a family of penguins for our friends who love penguins and just had a baby! I found a few different penguin sketches online and mixed them together to make this custom piece.

Lighthouse
The all too popular lighthouse tattoo is everywhere these days and since i recently went to the Outter Banks with my folks. I thought it would make a great fathers day present. The Cape Hatteras lighthouse. The random black spot on the bottom right came from painting outside and the wind flipped up my paper... whatever...

Parrot
Yes, this picture is currently my pride and joy. I was looking through my buddy Dan's tattoo flash books and found this Sailor Jerry Parrot, traced it and spent 2 days painting it. It was a pencil sketched flash, All the shading and color was my own. Quite the challenge and I think it came out looking less traditional flash and more new school, but I think it is really cool. So cool I was scared to make a Border or draw flowers and palm trees like I initially intended.
Rockabilly Girl
BlackBeard and OConnors
Yes, I made it to fit the frame!!!
Bird on a hand
Pin up Girl on an Anchor
Good Swords Rust
Heard this awesome quote and decided to make a little painting for it. Didn't have and ink to print the image so I traced it off the computer screen. Started doing that alot more

Christmas Tree
I wanted to do a nice little filler painting for the house for the Christmas season and came up with this. I used some cheap acrylic paint from Walmart. It was fun, easy and way cheaper than buying a Christmas painting from the Mall.
